What's new in the latest release?

Based on video acquisition modules compatible with a wide range of communication protocols, including LVDS, Camera Link, GigE Vision and all types of analog formats (CCIR, PAL, RS170, NTSC), INFRATEST acquires, displays and analyzes the video signal from all types of cameras.

 

In addition, INFRATEST manages the optical stimuli delivered to the electro-optical device under test through the control of blackbodies and visible/NIR optical sources and their accessories (collimator, target wheel, harmonization modules, etc.). 

INFRATEST is able to run an exhaustive list of test routines for a full characterization of camera performances: noise tests (NETD, fixed pattern noise, temporal noise ...), spatial tests (MTF, FOV, distortion), detection/recognition/identification range tests (MRTD, MDTD, TOD), alignment and harmonization tests ....

Test results are exported through different formats (.csv, .xml, .png, .html).

INFRATEST enables to set up multiple optical tests by a click, controlling external reference sources and acquiring camera video signal through standard communication protocols.

Noise Tests: INFRATEST enables to characterize the following noise features of an electro-optical device. The device's pupil and field should be uniformly illuminated by a reference source matching the device's spectral range. HGH can provide high-end extended area reference sources, such as DCN and ECN blackbodies.

Spatial Tests:  INFRATEST enables to perform the following spatial tests on an electro-optical device. Targets with specific patterns, depending on the test, have to be set between the reference source and the device under test. A collimator may be necessary. WHAT's NEW IN INFRATEST
  • Wide field of view camera testing capabilities

INFRATEST makes simple and accurate the test of parameters such as distortion and FOV and the measurement of MTF and MRTD at the edge of the FOV owing to the automatic control of the orientation of the unit under test, which is mounted on a high precision motorized stage.Thanks to the combination of the high optical quality of our mirror based IRCOL collimators and the automatic management of the angle of sight of the camera under test, INFRATEST software provides accurate testing of very wide FOV cameras, even fish eyed, from visible to far IR spectral range.

  • Smart control of liquid cooled blackbodies

INFRATEST software now includes a smart remote control of the temperature of DCN1000 blackbodies' cooling fluid.

The software also automatically defines the most appropriate temperature of the fluid with respect to the temperature setpoint of the emissive surface, saving time by changing the temperature of the fluid only when required. 

  • Background temperature simulation

Temperature sensitivity test of thermal imagers frequently requires the adjustment of both background temperature and target temperature.

While the simultaneous temperature control of several blackbodies is featured in INFRATEST for many years, the new version now takes into account the live measurement of the background temperature into the calculations of key functions such as MRTD thus extending the testing capabilities for the most demanding IR cameras. 

This background temperature is simulated by special targets reflecting a secondary blackbody radiation.
